Google Scholar is a search engine used to find journal articles, conference papers, dissertations and other scholarly sources. It’s a powerful tool for researchers but at times we fall flat in harnessing its true potential. This hands-on workshop will demonstrate advanced search techniques for navigating Google Scholar more effectively and efficiently. Participants will learn advanced search techniques, finding citations, directly importing citations into citation management; finding full text articles which may be available as paid research. Workshop will also demonstrate on how to create Google Scholar’s personal profile with citation metrics and customization. Creating citation and publication alerts as well as specific search alerts for automatic updates.


At the end of workshop the participants will be able to:

  • Perform advance features of Google Scholar effectively
  • Search free text from paid scientific research
  • Create and update Google Profile
  • Create and update /edit citation and search alerts
  • Use “Publish or Perish” Software
