Effective PowerPoint Presentations
“Your presentations will never be the same after attending this workshop” In today’s world, no classroom, seminar hall or tutorial room is imaginable without the multimedia projector for lectures and presentations. Evidence suggests that the integration of Microsoft’s PowerPoint and other slideware programs into the classroom setting may hinder educational progress rather than help it! Close examination of the literature focusing on Cognitive Load Theory reveals that students’ and other audience have a limited tolerance for the amount of sights and sounds on display at any given time, especially in learning environments. According to the theory of CLT if PowerPoint is used to deliver lectures and presentation, we can enhance the learning experience of the students or participants without overloading the slides. A presentation created according to this theory will be more engaging, effective and powerful.
