QIMS plans to launch its own
Online journal soon – Col. Ahsan Bhatti
QUETTA: Workshops on Research Methodology and SPSS are very fruitful and will help in the professional capacity building of our faculty. We are also planning to launch our own journal and if all goes well, this online journal will be published by Quetta Institute of Medical Sciences/Combined Military Hospital Quetta in the next few months. This was stated by Col. Ahsan M. Bhatti, Dean Clinical Sciences and Professor of Surgery at QIMC/CMH Quetta. He was speaking at the workshop on Research Methodology and SPSS organized by PharmEvo here recently. Dr. Masood Jawaid, Director Medical Affairs at PharmEvo who is also Associate Editor of Pakistan Journal of Medical Sciences was the facilitator.
PharmEvo organized a workshop on Research Methodology and SPSS at Quetta Institute of Medical Sciences/Combined Military Hospital Quetta recently. This two days’ workshop of Research Methods and SPSS was organized on December 29th and 30th 2017. Speaking on this occasion, Col. Maqbool Raza, Training Officer at QIMS said that we need to develop a strong culture of research and publishing. There is so much data available with us, the only thing lacking is converting them for publication in peer reviewed journal. This interesting and highly interactive activity with very energetic facilitator is extremely valuable to promote research culture and the art of medical writing.
During the workshop, Dr. Masood Jawaid discussed different steps in planning and conducting research, advance technique of Google Scholar, H index and its usage followed by hands on training of SPSS software. All the participants actively participated, highly rated the workshop and appreciated the efforts of PharmEvo for arranging such an academic activity at Combined Military Hospital, Quetta.
Brig. Salman Ahmed, Commandant CMH welcome the facilitator on the first day while Col. Imtiaz Ali Shah, Assistant Commandant concluded the session and presented official shield of CMH to Dr. Masood Jawaid.
